GEORGIA NAACP PRESIDENT GERALD GRIGGS RESPONDS TO INDICTMENT IN JARRET HOBBS JAIL ASSAULT CASE

On May 17, 2023, the Camden County Grand Jury issued a True Bill of Indictment against three individuals: Camden County Sheriff’s Deputy Corporal Brian Beagle, Detention Officers Corporal Mason Garrick, and Officer Braxton Massey. They have been charged with Battery, Simple Battery, as well as two counts each of Violation of Oath by Public Officer. These charges are a direct result of the heinous assault inflicted upon Mr. Jarrett Hobbs, a 41-year-old individual, on September 3, 2022.
