ATLANTA POLICE OFFICER INDICTED IN SHOOTING DEATH OF JIMMY ATCHISON

crystal527

A Fulton County grand jury has indicted a former Atlanta police officer Sung Kim on numerous after the officer shot and killed a man in 2019 who was hiding in a closet after fleeing from a fugitive task force.

Atchison’s case has been a top local example for those protesting police violence against Black people in recent years. His family has been fighting for justice since 2019 to get attention and justice in his case. His name was many times the central focus of Atlanta protesters during the unrest of Freedom Summer 2020.

Atchison’s family has repeatedly contended that officials were dragging their feet in presenting the case to a grand jury. Attorney Gerald Griggs said "because of the focus and resolve of the family, the first step toward justice and accountability is happening in Fulton County." More Details to come via press Conference on Monday.
